Hei, any ideas for trouleshooting a screen that stopped working? The touch screen seems to be picking up inputs but the display itself seems to not turn on?
Sounds great!
@JD Gramajo Brightness adjustment is a function of the screen and has nothing to do with the OS.In theory, as long as the new OS sets the audio output to HDMI, the sound can be played throug...
@Benoît PARSY Retropie/RecalBox may not be compatible if used on raspad. What I mean is that these two systems do not have a mouse, so the touch function of RasPad is affected and cannot be...
@Torsten Frenschkowski We have not encountered a similar problem. You can read this post which is similar: https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=174953 Or you can try to delete the c...
@Horacio Resendiz You can set the fan switch on the upper left corner of the mainboard to ‘S’, which can reduce noise, but will relatively reduce the fan’s speed and heat dissipa...
@John Alexander Dear friend, regarding the no reply you mentioned, we check that we replyed to you on May 6th. The content is as follows: Hi John,Thanks for contacting us.Could you please provide...
Great stuff Sunfounder and RasPad team
My RasPad3 is awesome. I've run many different images with it. Right now it's an Amiga! Whether just at home or on-the-go, it's been a great both tool and toy.
Strangely, I prefer the second prize the best 😁
#6 There is a little switch next to the fan connector on the Raspad daughter board which sets the cpu fan speed from Hi to Lo. This reduces the noise somewhat. Jay
@David Hardingham It will climp over 70 degree C very fast and if you have load it'll go over 80 and then trottle the clock rate.
I found out the fan is set to a fixed speed. Not very silent. Is there a way to change the settings of the speed? or maybe just a different position? Everything else seems to be working fine for me
As it goes the Raspad 3 is fine for what it is but there are some badly needed improvements. Critical Issues: The first and probably biggest issue is the lack of low amp USB charging capability. ...
For thos of us with fat fingers, it would be good to add a touch sensitive pen with the RasPad. This would help some of us hit small buttons correctly every time 😀
With my RasPad, the fan is on all of the time. Surely it should only be on when the CPU gets hot - which may never happen. I hard that many people have removed the fan. I will be disconnecting mine...
@Patrick Steinke Me too. Also had good experience with TwisterOS so far. 👍 Installation went smoothly. Everything is working fine. Rotation 👍, Sound 👍, 2nd Monitor 👍, LAN, WLAN 👍, BT 👍, ... 👍 ...
That is too bad! Hope you will get your replacement soon. Jay
#5 The autorotate feature was too sensitive and I often had to rotate the Raspad to keep it in the desired mode (landscape mostly). I have removed the sensor from the Pi4 GPIO pins for now...
Hi, I do like the RasPad OS you have put together, however I find myself in need of using another Linux distro. I would like to use the speakers, change brightness and such, but am unable as of no...
I just tried another solution: I removed the fan and the small black heat sink from the SoC. I replaced it with two Pi4 SoC heat sinks by glueing the thermal pad half/half onto the surface. Meanin...
Perhaps you should think about changing the fan to one from Noctua. The fans from Noctua are from very good quality and most models are very silent. You can get fans in all needed sizes and voltage...
I want to try out TwisterOS - have anyone already experience with it?
@Thomas Veach I would like to set it up on 64 Bit RaspiOS oder DietPi, too. Did you already do some work on autorotationg the display? I am juast starting to get into this.
Hi all, I am rather happy with the Raspad, unfortunately I changed the various appearance settings to make it look a bit "cooler" but now the click on the "x" to close a window is not working anym...
Hello to all from Germany! Im proud to be a member of this community and hope we all will have a good time here. Stay healthy and keep thinking positive. Thank you to the RasPad-Team! Patr...
@Jay Bee you don't need a fabless solution you need to mount your fan not on a sounding board. The design problem is the back of the Raspad is a large souding board to which the fan is attache...
#4 If you intend to program your Sunfounder STEM device using Raspad, the EZBlock 2 app needs an update to work with the BT dongle provided by Sunfounder customer support. However, there is a publ...
Hi. I have been using ios-based tablets for years. My old Mac Mini & a couple of PC laptops are barely used, pretty much dedicated to SDR radio now. My intention is to move away from Apple prod...
Hello Any Retropie/RecalBox installation experience in the forum to share? How to install the drivers of the display board on it? Could be usefull to know that onto a bare raspberry Pi OS, without...
Great way to stir up involvement! Good luck to all!
#3 I noticed the external HDMI port is not hot plugable. Simply reboot the Raspad with the monitor plugged in and it will be activated. Jay
#2 I noticed static noises on the headphone jack. I am using BT paired device instead now. You need to install sudo apt install bluetooth pi-bluetooth bluez blueman Then add Volume Control...
I replaced the fan with one that I had on hand. Also, I selected CPU processor temperature for display on the top line. I understand the processor speed is not slowed down until the temperature reac...
Hi all, #1 quick tipp to avoid destroying your SD card reader: never forget to remove SD card prior to opening the housing! The metal case of the reader will not survive an opening with a...
I have fiddled around with the voltage level of the fan, but even if it runs very slowly, it is noisy. I believe we need to look into a big heat sink solution (similar to PI400) as the housing of t...
Thanks! :-)
I have a Pi 4 setup running Android. It's not a Raspad though. It's ok but not my choice for a developer platform. I actually prefer the 64 bit version of Raspbian OS.
You can try the version by KonstaKang: https://konstakang.com/devices/rpi4/ I gave it a quick look and it boots and the main functions seem to be there.
Hi everyone and welcome to the forum ^_^ I just wanted to ask if anyone uses Android on its RasPad 3. I use RasPad OS from the beginning but I wanted to try Android on another microSD I have avail...
